👋 Welcome to AI Visibility, a weekly newsletter for brands that want to be the #1 answer on LLMs.

Today, we question 👇

What’s a ChatGPT Recommendation Worth

When ChatGPT suggests products or tools, it usually mentions only 2–3 options. Those options shape where attention and demand flow.

If your brand appears there, it becomes part of the decision. If not, the demand moves elsewhere.

A single mention can influence thousands of decisions that would previously happen across search results, review sites, and comparison articles.

This shifts the economics of visibility.

Instead of competing across an entire results page, you compete for a place inside a small set of recommendations.

Look at how your brand is described across the web. Reviews, documentation, industry articles, and comparison pages all influence how AI systems understand your role in a category. If those sources use different language or vague positioning, the association weakens.

For example, one article may describe your product as “email security software,” another as “secure email hosting,” and a third as “encrypted email.” When the terminology shifts, the category signal becomes harder to recognize.

When the signals are consistent, your brand becomes easier to retrieve. When they’re fragmented, another company takes the slot.

Your job is to make the connection obvious.

If you want to understand how AI models currently position your brand, Algomizer can map your AI citation footprint and identify the authority signals that influence whether your brand appears in AI answers.
